Mitsui Mining expects H1 zinc output falling 4.7% y/y
Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co Ltd plans to produce 107,000 tonnes of refined zinc in the first half of the 2023/24 financial year, down 4.7% from a year earlier, Japan’s biggest zinc smelter said on Monday.
The first half runs from April to September.
Zinc is used mainly as an anti-corrosive coating while making galvanized steel.
Following are details of the output plan, with comparisons against planned production in the second half and actual production in the first half of the 2022/23 financial year, which ended on March 31.
