Copper price prompts Rio Tinto to eye PNG mine restart
Mining Journal (May 12, 2008) – Rio Tinto has begun efforts to reactivate the Panguna copper mine in Papua New Guinea, almost 20 years after a secessionist rebellion forced its closure, spurred on by strong price gains for the red metal.
